Friday 11th July - Sunday 13th July: Weekend in Tiveriah

Friday:
We began the day with a refreshing swim in the hotel.

We then had a very special opportunity to meet with Mrs Rita Bourla, one of our group members - Nathan Misan's great grandmother who was one of  the pioneers of the kibbutz at the beginning  of the state of Israel. She spoke about her story and how she ended up in Israel from Brazil. It was incredible to hear a first hand account and a great privilege to meet such a remarkable woman.

We then did a really amazing water Tiyul at Nachal Hakibutzim where we had to swim through the water to get to the other side.

Friday night in Tiveria began with a moving  group davening and dancing. We were joined by the Godfrey family ( Gaby Godfrey runs the Tribe Israel office) the and loved playing with their 3 adorable boys.

Shabbat:
We got a little bit of a lie in. Before lunch we had a Peula (session) run by the Godfreys about being proactive in our communities and what we as individuals have to give back to our communities.

We went on a walking tour of Tiveria and learnt about its rich history. We also had the opportunity to see a great viewpoint over the Kinneret.

Sunday:

We began the day at the Mt Arbel which is a cliff face that we climbed along and down. It was scary at points but very thrilling and a great group bonding experience as we all had to help each other.

In the aftrenoon we did a  load of watersports including banana boating and tubing.

In the evening we went on a part boat cruise with drumming that we all thoroughly enjoyed.

Elliot Rose: "Today's hike was scary but fun."

Guy Oberlander: "Top day relaxing by the sores of Lake Kinneret. I haven't done an activity that fun in a while."
